BRANDED PAKISTANI DRESSES
A practical guide for international shoppers: what "branded" actually means in Pakistan, how to judge quality from a photograph, what you should pay, and how delivery works when the dress ships from Karachi to your door.
What 'branded' means in Pakistan
In Pakistan, a branded dress is one made by a named design house that controls its own fabric, cutting and stitching — as opposed to an unlabelled market piece copied from a seasonal lookbook. The difference shows up in the details international buyers care about most: consistent sizing, colourfast dyes, finished seams, and a label that stands behind the garment after it has been shipped.
The Clothing Box Office is the ready-to-wear label of AA fabrics Design Studio, a Karachi atelier. Every piece is cut and finished in-house, which is why our silhouettes stay consistent across sizes and seasons.
Fabrics worth paying for
Lawn is the summer staple — light, breathable cotton that suits hot, humid weather. Cambric and khaddar carry more weight for cooler months. For formals, look for silk, organza and chiffon with hand-finished embroidery rather than machine-glued embellishment, which rarely survives more than a few wears.
Ask for the fabric weight and the embroidery method before ordering. A reputable label will answer both without hesitation.
Sizing when you can't try it on
Pakistani labels size by chest measurement more often than by international S/M/L conventions. Measure across the fullest part of your chest and compare against the label's own chart rather than assuming your usual size. Ours runs Small 19", Medium 21", Large 23" (flat chest measurement).
Spotting an authentic piece
Genuine branded stock comes with consistent product photography of the actual garment, a stated fabric composition, a published returns window, and a real contact channel for the studio. Be cautious with sellers who use only catalogue renders, refuse measurements, or take payment with no order number and no tracking.
What it costs to ship worldwide
Express couriers charge a fixed base rate for the first kilogram, and a single dress with packaging weighs roughly a kilogram — so one dress absorbs the whole base charge. Ordering two or three pieces together cuts the shipping cost per item substantially, because each extra kilogram is far cheaper than the first.
